Len and Janet Jentz • Modified Van

Nick, 21, was born with cerebral palsy, but he likes to be active and stay involved. As Nick grew, transportation became an issue for this family of six who love to travel together. Iowa Able worked with lending partner, Bankers Trust, in Cedar Rapids. The  family was able to get a loan and purchase a  modified Dodge Caravan. “Last Sunday, I was able to take my family to brunch and to a boat show in Waterloo,” Len said. “This summer, the entire family went to North Dakota - a 10 hour trip – to celebrate a niece’s graduation. Because of the van, we were able to include Nick which meant a lot to our family.” The loan to the family was the first Iowa Able loan made after the new program was revitalized in 2004. “We wouldn’t have been able to get the van without this program,” Len said frankly. “That’s why we’re willing to tell anyone and everyone about this. It has made a tremendous difference to my family.”
